today is september 22

first day of fall officially.
I must say I am reserving judgement on the hyped "terrorism raid..." if the intelligence community" is serious about its work, they should be more discreet. Also - innocent until proven guilty.

daze and awe

I relly can't wait to see the new Michael Moore film "Capitalism - A love story."

On another note: If the Congresscritters pass a health financing bill that mandates everyone buy an insurance plan: they will be carting me to jail. I cannot afford it, nor will I be able to pay fines. I have a feeling I will have a lot of company.

baucus bill-s****

According to the m$m, this is a great thing because the Dems and Rethugs are working on it together. The bill sounds word for word written by the insurance companies - no government run competition, "exchange" of companies, mandated insurance. I want my single payer!!!!

today is tuesday

hello blog!!! Loved the teabag/tenther/birther.twelfther republicrazy "protest." Shees.! The amount of media coverage they got was very overrated. If it were a protest during the W era - - it wouldn't even be a sentence on page 14.

obama speech on health care

interesting speech. I think politically, Obama did what he needed to do - addressing the issues/critics/republiscums. I think what we will get will be some kind of consumer protection for health insurance. I truly hope for the strong public option, since Obama said we;re not getting single payer (not immediately anyway) I hope that will lead to single payer and that the Feds will allow the states to try single payer.

happy labor day

hope you all have a great Labor Day. here in NYC it's busy - Brazilian Independence, the West Indian Day parade, adn the Labor Day parade.

Pity the clock in reversing for ordinary workers - more overtime, more stress, shaky job security.
It's a good weekend to reflect on the good unions and organized workers have done, and the disaster Taft-Hartley is on the Federal level and the Taylor Act in NY. Long live Labor!!
